Official case update

Commercial radio music reproduction rates remain unchanged

In 2026 CB 7, the Copyright Board approved the 2027 to 2029 commercial radio reproduction tariff without increasing the previous royalty rates. It also updated administrative references in the tariff.

Commercial radio operators will continue under the previous reproduction royalty rates for the 2027 to 2029 tariff period. In 2026 CB 7, the Copyright Board concluded that the prior approved rates remained an appropriate starting point because the record did not demonstrate a material market change requiring new rates.

The Board also updated references to the collective Panorama and the list of French language stations.

The result gives radio broadcasters and music rights holders a degree of pricing continuity. It doesn't decide that other kinds of copyright licences, or future markets, must use the same rates.
