Write for Binder Humanities

We're interested in people who can bring a subject to life. You don't need to be a lawyer, a professional writer or an established artist. You need a considered point of view, an original argument and the willingness to support factual claims with reliable evidence.

1 · Propose

Tell us what you want to explore, why it matters and what experience or sources support your perspective.

2 · Editorial review

An editor checks originality, sourcing, relevance and the quality of the argument. A pitch may be revised or declined.

3 · Agree and publish

If accepted, we discuss publication rights, the public byline and edits before any article goes live.

4 · Share in value

Eligible members pay no additional fee to contribute. Approved human contributors can also share in attributable revenue, subject to a separate agreement and payment verification.

What we're looking for

Original, substantial essays and reported perspectives about visual art, music, books, cinema, design, philosophy, history and culture. First-person writing is welcome when it's specific and thoughtful. So are interviews, close readings, criticism and analyses of Canadian legal or policy developments affecting creative work. We don't want promotional copy, invented sources, AI-generated impersonations or short articles stretched with repetitive observations.

You remain the author of your original material, subject to any publication licence or other terms you later agree to. We don't publish a pitch just because it was submitted. We also don't treat a guest byline as evidence of any ownership or management relationship with BinderCo.

Contributor eligibility is a membership benefit. An active Binder Sole, Pro or Enterprise member can contribute without any additional fee. So can someone with a Binder University account or either paid Binder Intelligence tier. There is no free contributor account, and a Binder trial alone isn't eligible. Members can also participate in Binder Contributor Share when their original work produces verified attributable revenue, subject to an approved human contributor agreement and payout verification. Publishing is never guaranteed.
