Niagara Falls adds smaller grants for local cultural projects

The 2027 Cultural Development Fund adds grants of up to $2,500 with simpler requirements. Applications close November 30, 2026.

Niagara Falls has added a microgrant stream to its 2027 Cultural Development Fund. Smaller projects can seek up to $2,500 through a process with fewer planning and reporting requirements, alongside the existing full grants of up to $10,000. The October 15 announcement invites local artists, performers, organizations, groups and collectives to propose projects taking place in the city between March 2027 and February 2028.

Applications close November 30, 2026. Exhibitions, performances, workshops, public art and heritage programming are among the activities described by the city. A grant writing workshop is scheduled for October 26, with individual consultations available on November 2 and 9. Funding decisions are expected by March 2027 and remain subject to council budget approval. For a small collective, the distinct opportunity is a funding stream designed to require less administrative preparation. Applicants still need to check eligibility and the current application instructions.
