Ontario regulator proposes refusing mortgage agent licence renewal

FSRA alleges inaccurate licence application information and suitability concerns in a proposed mortgage agent nonrenewal. The agent has sought a tribunal hearing.

On October 23, 2026, Ontario's Financial Services Regulatory Authority announced a proposal to refuse renewal of Anna Angelidis's mortgage agent licence. The regulator alleges that her past conduct raises suitability concerns under the Mortgage Brokerages, Lenders and Administrators Act and that she provided false information on a licence application.

The notice is a proposal, not a final ruling on the allegations. Angelidis has requested a hearing before the Financial Services Tribunal. For mortgage brokerages, the announcement highlights the importance of accurate licensing disclosures while leaving the contested allegations for the hearing process.
