Western insurance deal would change board leadership on closing

Western says Scott Tannas would leave its chair role to lead Canadian Farm, with Paul Rivett becoming chair, if the proposed acquisition closes.

Western Investment Company announced a planned $52.5 million acquisition of Canadian Farm Insurance and Stockmens on October 19, 2026. The issuer says Scott Tannas would step down as Western's chair and become Canadian Farm's chief executive on closing, while Paul Rivett would take over as Western chair. Those governance changes are conditional on completion. The transaction still needs regulatory and exchange approvals, and Western is seeking a roughly $50 million private placement. No closing has been announced in the original source.

A board issue is rarely just one document.

A contractor dispute. A reserve fund question. An annual filing that got missed. An agreement with a service provider. Each begins somewhere, then gathers records, decisions and responsibilities. Binder gives your organization a Matter to keep that work connected instead of losing it across inboxes and handovers.
