Yukon and Ross River Dena Council establish a joint wildlife stewardship authority

Ross River Dena Council and the Yukon government announced on November 2 an agreement signed October 14 establishing a joint authority to discuss fish, wildlife and habitat stewardship in the Ross River Area. Each government will appoint two delegates, with the authority providing recommendations rather than taking over statutory decision-making. The agreement creates a formal place for Tū Łī́dlini Dena practices and knowledge to inform wildlife management outside the usual treaty-based structures.
