Yukon (Government of) v Security National Insurance Co., 2024 YKSC 22

The Yukon government couldn't recover publicly funded care and medical travel costs through an injured resident's SEF 44 family protection endorsement. The Court held the statutes allowed recovery against the wrongdoer, not the resident's own insurer, and that government wasn't an eligible claimant under the policy.

Decision 2023-04-03 · Open coverage

Yukon (Government of) v Norcope Enterprises Ltd, 2023 YKSC 17

The Yukon Supreme Court held that Intact remained liable under a construction warranty bond for Norcope's share of defective airport apron work. Mixed frost and workmanship causes, the government's own fault, and alleged deficiencies in notice did not eliminate the surety's liability, which was limited to the contractor's 35% share.
