A vacancy tells an employer what it needs, but a conventional job posting doesn't always reach the people who could do the work. Alberta's WorkFirst Alberta program offers employers another route through a Talent Exchange that connects them with potential applicants. The question for a business isn't whether a new recruitment platform sounds promising. It's whether the employer has described the job clearly enough for a useful match to happen. The province says the Talent Exchange operates through Thrive and offers targeted postings, tailored candidate pipelines and confidential outreach to possible hires. Its broader WorkFirst initiative also connects job seekers with career planning, resume support and employment services. Those are program features, not proof that a particular employer will fill a vacancy faster or that every candidate will be suitable. The service gives employers a different place to look and a potentially different way to be found. Consider a company that's been advertising for a coordinator with experience in payroll, scheduling and customer service. The last two candidates met most of the requirements but hadn't used the company's preferred software.
