A Manitoba data analyst fired after his caregiver benefit paperwork identified his brother instead of his son has been awarded notice pay. A.Z. worked for C.P. Loewen Enterprises Ltd., which operates Loewen Windows. The dispute centred on paperwork connected with caregiver benefits and the employer's conclusion that the discrepancy amounted to dishonesty serious enough to justify dismissal. The Manitoba Labour Board did not accept that the circumstances eliminated the employee's entitlement to notice.
