Ontario reported on October 9 that Kiwi Constructors Ltd. was fined $70,000 following a guilty plea after a worker was struck by a moving production table at its Guelph plant. The employer failed to ensure the equipment had an adequate automatic warning system as required by Regulation 851 and the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The conviction was entered on September 18, 2026, and the court imposed the required 25% victim fine surcharge. The ministry said part of the equipment's movement wasn't visible from the control station and the existing white light warning was inadequate.
