Binder University is introducing the Natasha Mortimer Bursary, a new annual bursary funded entirely by enrolment proceeds from our Mental Health, Addiction & Healthcare program.
The bursary was created in memory of Natasha Mortimer, a registered nurse from Lethbridge, Alberta, who passed away on August 23, 2011, at the age of 35. She was a mother, a nurse, and a person who deserved better from the systems that were meant to support her. This bursary exists in her name.
One hundred percent of net enrolment revenue from the program funds the bursary each year. It is open to Canadian healthcare workers and students in direct-care roles. Eligibility is by self-declaration — no documentation is required. The recipient is selected every year on June 7th.
